Hi, I'm Crystal!

An art therapist and creative coach

I help women reconnect with themselves, discover, and embrace their identity, forge their own path and live their lives with freedom—unapologetically.

Because I have been there too.

The place where you make your life’s mission to fit in the perfect ‘role’…

Pleasing your family, friends, boss, and everyone…except yourself.

Not being true to yourself… Not being connected with yourself

And all of this leaves a void inside you.

And you wonder why you feel stuck, lonely, dejected, and dissatisfied…

Thankfully, I managed to break these barriers and regained my freedom, my identity, and above all – my happiness.

And that’s exactly what I want for you.

Here's my story

Throughout the years, I used my talents as a façade.

I was attached to my education, my job, my projects, and my relationships…

I had no idea that these attachments would become so synonymous with who I was that I did not see my value apart from those very labels.

I tried to be the best daughter for my parents, the best worker for my boss, and the best friend or the perfect partner…

I always found myself searching for something to act on.

Ultimately, I failed to be the best at the one thing that matters the most:

Being true to myself.

And that left a void in me, making me feel distressed, empty, and alone…

Then the pandemic happened, forcing everyone—including me—to shift our goals and aspirations.

I came to realize that what I wanted was the opportunity to rediscover and recreate my life.

That’s when I moved out of my hometown to explore the opportunities Texas opened for me.

It was the moment I "chose" myself.

As someone who is used to seeking validation in her every action…

This step was challenging.

But things weren't easy...

My plan was to get into a Human Resources position but I got rejected.

That led to an intense period of sadness, hopelessness, and self-doubt.

Sitting on my apartment floor, I was dead worried wondering if my current job would sustain my needs and feed my goals…

But it wasn’t just about getting back on my feet…

It was about reclaiming myself as a whole person.

The new city allowed me to have a space where I could be completely vulnerable and transparent with myself ...

I was no longer fearful and instead made the conscious choice to act on instinct.

That's when I found a new passion...

I always thought that art was mere paintings and drawings…

UNTIL I MET A CREATIVE WHO CHANGED HOW I UNDERSTOOD THE MEANING OF ART.

His use of cultural imagery through his vivid paintings resonated with me.

I got inspired and found ways to evoke emotions, through painting.

You know how they say, “People come into our lives for a reason.”

This person in this season guided me toward my purpose:

Self-expression through analyzing images.

And that’s not all.

I realized that my words too could transform ideas, much as a painting or sculpture can…

That was when I started my blog.

‘THE E IS FOR EMPOWERMENT’

I started sharing the most vulnerable stages of my life, adding more personal stories…

And realized that women were connecting with me in an incredibly real way. I wasn’t the only one who felt that way—there were many others out there, who were lost, frustrated, and trying to please everyone they knew.

This motivated me to go further.

I started showcasing my experiences with my identity…

Embodying my authentic self through self-expression…

My website became my personal diary…

I had never felt truly liberated until I started to see myself for who I am- not as someone who needs to seek approval from the dominant society.

Seeing me for who I have been is an incredibly freeing experience.

It’s allowed me to be myself without any expectations from others, and it has made me feel more comfortable being who I am in the world, which has allowed me to make more progress toward my goals.

That's when I created this space.

A place where women can share their stories and find support from other women like them who are also striving for freedom to live life how they want.

Where we can journey together with a purpose of self-discovery through art.

We do this transformation by a process: "touring the muse": an outward expression of an inward self-reflection.

Detaching ourselves from our labels and forming a greater understanding of our place in the world…

If this resonates with you, I invite you to embark on this journey of self-discovery with me.

Let’s uncover a path toward achieving what your soul truly longs for…

Believe it or not, I am a sucker for nostalgia: do you remember playing Origami Fortune Teller, watching Sister Sister, and indulging on Moon Pies and Fruit Rollups in your childhood days?
